Windows NT 4.0升级
Windows NT 4.0的3门考试70-73，70-67和70-68将在2000年12月31日退休，1年后，即2001年12月31日，NT 4.0的MCSE将过期 Windows NT 4.0的MCSE必须在2001年12月31日前，完成Windows 2000的考试 对于已经通过了3门NT 4.0考试的MCSE，升级可以考70-240一门，加上从3门Windows 2000可选考试中选一门，一共2门考试其他网络知识是Windows 2000的基本要求，所以70-58 Networking Essentials也在2000年12月31日退休。相关的知识将包含在 70-216: Implementing and Administering a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure 70-221: Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure Internet同样成为Windows 2000的一部分，所以MCSE+Internet将不再延续（截止到2001年12月31日）

70-240同时可以作为MCDBA的必考和可选考试，也就是说如果选择了考70-240，那么MCDBA只需要考3门：70-240，70-28和70-29
