通向各国之路

作为各国间平等贸易的象征,世贸组织理应拥有一栋雄心勃勃、诗意盎然且充满意义的建筑.

本案从原建筑内部的通道开始改建,一直延伸出建筑外部,形成一座缓步上升的公共空间――一座由各成员国国旗色块抽象表现所组成的“协作之路”,以此隐喻世贸组织领导下各国间的交流与合作.设计师通过各国国旗的颜色简洁概括寓意了各国间所达成的共识,形成这个由各成员国的国旗所汇聚成的“大道”.

特殊的图案设计有趣的一点是――身处建筑中的人群可看见其具体完整的模样,而站在公园中的人群却几乎没办法看到详细的景象.而通道徐徐地向天际延伸,在高点可一览湖面的全景.

TheWorldTradeOrganizationdoesdeserveanambitious,poeticalandmeaningfularchitecture,asasymbolforequityandexchangesbetweenNations.Today’sbuildingwillextend“onthewaytonations”,asametaphorforcooperationandexchangesledbytheWTO.Thiswayepitomizestheagreementsbetweennationsbyassociatingthecolourstheyrepresent:themembership’lagsbineintothegroundofthepath.

Thegraphicdesignisshowntothepeoplefrominandonthebuildingwhileitremainsalmostunshownfromtheparkinordertoprotecttheharmony.Thewayslowlyrisestotheskyuptoapanoramicviewpointlookingoverthelake.
